"Whether you think you can or you think you can't - you're right." (Henry Ford)
Welcome to Physical Education class at Major General Murray High School - I am excited to teach you about the importance of physical fitness. In this class, you will be taught at both your fitness and ability level ensuring an equitable learning platform for forward progress. All activities that take place will promote good sportspersonship and positive social interactions.
You will be expected to participate in daily physical activity. We will be utilizing weights, medicine balls, and other strength training equipment. You will also be expected to run/jog daily to improve upon your cardiovascular health. It is important that you wearappropriate shoes and clothing (LINK) to class each day.
Helpful Hints for Success:
Be mindful of arriving to class on time and ready to participate daily
Be courteous and respectful
Keep in mind that 10 days of participation is equivalent to 1 full credit
Work hard and push yourself to continuously improve (both physically and academically)
If you have any questions while at home, please email me at [email protected]
Please Note: It is important that I know about any medical conditions and/or limitations (ex: asthma, diabetes, lupus, etc.) that you may have. Please come with a note so that the school nurse can document the condition/limitation and communicate this information with me. You are never excused without a note from home or the doctor. If you do not participate in class credit will not be given for that day.
I look forward to a positive and rewarding year where you learn the importance of life-long physical activity coupled with a "can-do" attitude. Go Bulldogs!
Bulldog Physical Education Agreement I understand that physical fitness and running make up a large percentage of my physical education grade and credit acquisition. I am expected to try my best and participate in all fitness and conditioning activities. I am aware that I will never be excused from physical education class unless I have a note from a parent/guardian explaining my ailment or injury. If I am to be excused from P.E class for more than 2 days a note from my doctor is required and a class change may take place. Any missed days can be made up with Ms. Andrews. I will not ask Ms. Andrews to excuse me from class and I will arrive ready to work to the best of my abilities. Signed ____________________
